This 100% Online Train the Trainer course is a series of interactive lessons that equip people with the knowledge and skills for creating and delivering training on any topic.
Who should enroll in this program?
The Online Train the Trainer program is designed for anyone who must create or deliver training.
- New trainers learn what’s required and how to do it.
Experienced trainers who’ve never had formal training on creating training.
Also managers, supervisors, and business owners, who are all responsible for training their teams using either formal or informal methods.
Other participants include:
- Consultants who must give presentations,
HR personnel, and anyone who conducts policy, safety, or new employee training.
Essentially, anyone responsible for equipping others with knowledge, skills, and/or attitudes will learn ways to improve what they’ve been doing.
How will this course impact my workplace?
When you know the most effective ways to transfer knowledge, you become more confident and valuable in your role. The content in this course equips you to teach effectively to all learning styles and give presentations that make an impact.
As a result, your learners become more engaged in the topic, increasing their attention during the training – and how much they remember afterwards

How does Online Train the Trainer work?
You’ll be able to take the entire course is online. Once you enroll you receive a password giving you access to the lessons 24/7. The program content is divided into nine modules, each emphasizing a particular aspect of training.
Each general topic is comprised of individual lessons that focus on a specific topic within the general topic. For example, in the module on Individual Learning Styles, specific topics include right brain/left brain preferences; visual, auditory, and kinesthetic preferences; and how to use the accelerated learning method, among other topics.
Lessons are presented using interactive, easy-to-understand methods. We emphasize practical language and user-friendly techniques, not academic mumbo jumbo.
Throughout each lesson, questions are included every few minutes to reinforce the learning objectives. If you like, you can review lesson segments simply by using the “back” button.
Within each module are several graded quizzes. Questions are based directly on material within that module. To successfully complete the Online Train the Trainer course, you must receive a score of at least 85% on each quiz.
Can I view the lessons more than once?
Yes. You are allowed to go back and review any part of the program at any time.
What happens if I don’t score 85% on a quiz?
Our objective is for you to learn. Therefore, we allow you to review a lesson and/or retake a quiz as often as you like. You are not punished for retaking a quiz.
What if I get called away from the computer prior to completing a lesson?
Not a problem. Similar to skipping ahead to different scenes on a DVD, you can ‘jump’ to various parts of a lesson. You might not wind up exactly where you left off, but you’ll be close.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
With steady progress you will probably finish the course in six- to eight weeks, but it really depends on how much time you devote to it each week. If you take your time it will obviously take longer.
What do I need to know about enrollment?
Enrollment takes place right here online. Just complete the enrollment form and choose your preferred payment method. After payment has been confirmed you’ll be sent your password and you can start the course.

Does any software need to be installed?
Probably not. Lessons are created using Adobe® products and presented in Flash format. Since most computers (98% of them) already have Flash installed, chances are very good that this software already resides on your computer.
Quick Test: If you can watch videos on YouTube.com, that means Flash is already installed and your computer is ready to go.
In the rare event your computer does not have Flash installed, it is a free program from Adobe that can be downloaded here.
A Word About Workplace Computer Systems:
Many computer games require Flash. Therefore, your company may have removed Flash from its computers so employees don’t play computer games at work. If your workplace computer does not have Flash and your workplace does not allow you to download software, you may need to contact your IT department to get Flash installed.
What do I get that proves I completed the course?
Everyone finishing all nine modules and scoring 85% or higher on the quizzes receives a Certificate of Completion from the Center for Workplace Excellence.
Is it possible to achieve Certified Trainer status?
Yes. Idaho State University will award Certified Trainer status to those who complete additional work beyond the online quizzes (see below). The quality of this work must be reviewed and approved by the Department of Human Resource Training and Development at Idaho State University.
An extra fee is required for Certified Trainer status. You can select this option when you enroll, or if you have specific questions you can contact the Center for Workplace Excellence at (208) 375-7606.
Additional work required for Certified Trainer status:
A student must complete a midterm exam; evaluate case studies; submit a video of themselves presenting a class, seminar, or workshop; and pass a comprehensive final examination. Again, this work must meet the standards established by the Department of Human Resource Training and Development at Idaho State University.
Can college credit be earned for completing this course?
Yes. After completing the requirements for Certified Trainer status, Professional Education Credits, which count as electives in undergraduate programs, are awarded by Idaho State University. Fees for these credits are included when you apply for Certified Trainer status.
What should I do if I have a question while working on the material?
Students are free to contact the Center for Workplace Excellence with any questions. A phone number appears at the bottom of your screen throughout the program. E-mail links are also provided.
If people reporting to me are taking the course, can I track of their progress?
Absolutely. The system can provide managers / supervisors with real-time status about what lessons their employees have completed, what quizzes have been completed, and the scores their employees received on each quiz. This option can be selected on the enrollment page or by contacting the Center for Workplace Excellence.
The fee for Online Train the Trainer is only $1197 (US) when paid in full at the time of enrollment. This is a 15% discount from the regular course fee of $1397 when paid via installments.
What forms of payment are accepted?
The easiest and fasted way to get started is with a credit card (All major cards are accepted). Overseas clients not paying by credit card can pay via wire transfer (call 1-208-375-7606 for routing information).
Payment can also by made by check, and it’s no problem for us to work with companies needing a purchase order / invoice. Also, financing is available for people who would like that option.
